Of course Basara is loved by many cosplayers, but doing Basara’s cosplay is a big challenge for them. Almost all Basara’s characters wear gorgeous outfits and have decorative weapons, so they need a lot of money and time.

But I decided to take on the challenge!! I became Magoichi Saika from Sengoku Basara.

Creamy Mami is a magical girl anime series by Studio Pierrot which aired from 1983 to 1984 on TV in Japan. A normal 10-year old girl, Yū Morisawa is given the ability to transform into a 16-year old girl. She is made to fill in for an absent popular idol to sing on TV. Giving her name as “Creamy Mami“, she becomes an overnight hit.

Creamy Mami is very famous and popular between girls in Japan, and I also know what the anime is like even though the original anime was before my time. I like the kawaii fashion and pretty pastel-colored items. Since last year, various goods have been sold to mark the 30 anniversary of Creamy Mami.

BTW, Creamy Mami is known as a pioneer of the new marketing strategy, now known as “media mix”. They used an anime to promote a new, least-known idol singer. The real idol singer acted as an idol singer (Creamy Mami) also in the story. The opening theme was her first song in the real world too. Even though she was a new singer and not a trained voice actress, she voiced Yū/Creamy Mami. The result was a great success. The anime Creamy Mami has become famous and she gained a high popularity that still exists today. The same “media mix” approach was seen in many anime titles after Creamy Mami.

She was not much as a voice actor/singer, but that’s what’s fun about it. Japanese people sometimes respect to be fresh. It is one of interesting things of Japanese culture, I think.

This popular sci-fi manga by Tsutomu Nihei is currently serialized in Kodansha’s monthly magazine Afternoon, with eleven volumes of the series published in book form.
Story: Gauna, a strange alien race with no known method of communication, destroyed the solar system. A portion of humanity managed to escape to space using enormous “seed ships” like the Sidonia, and they battle against Gauna with the huge robotic weapons known as Gardes.

Polygon Pictures, the top 3DCG studio in Japan, winner of Daytime Emmy Award with Transformers Prime, Tron: Uprising, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, produces this anime as the first Japanese TV animation series for their 30th anniversary.

2013年11月9日、アニメ『シドニアの騎士』の制作発表会が東京都内で行われました。

『シドニアの騎士』は、弐瓶勉先生が月刊『アフタヌーン』（講談社）で連載しているSF漫画作品。対話不能の異生物・奇居子（ガウナ）に太陽系を破壊され、巨大な宇宙船シドニアで宇宙を旅しながら暮らす人類が、衛人と呼ばれる大型兵器に乗って奇居子と戦う物語です。

制作はポリゴン・ピクチュアズ。『トロン：ライジング』『スター・ウォーズ：クローン・ウォーズ』『トランスフォーマー プライム』で米国アニー賞にノミネートされるなど、CGスタジオとして日本のトップを走る同社が、創立30周年を記念して日本のテレビアニメシリーズの制作に初挑戦します。

A brand-new promo video and main visuals were released for the first time. The main voice cast and music production staff were announced as well. The director, co-director, and main voice casts appeared on the stage.

制作発表会では、PV第二弾が公開されるほか、音楽製作陣、そして注目のメインキャストが発表されました！豪華声優陣と監督・副監督も駆けつけ、華やかなステージとなりました。

Sidonia Monthly is going to be distributed at Comiket 85, which is held from December 29 to 31. Latest news about anime Knights of Sidonia will be released on this newspaper monthly, and you can get it at the largest anime/manga shop Animate from next year.

「シドニア月報」は、今月末のコミックマーケット85で配布されるほか、来年以降は全国のアニメイトでも配布予定！個性的で魅力的なキャラクター紹介やかっこいい継衛のビジュアルなど、情報盛りだくさん。その名の通り毎月新しいニュースが掲載されるそうなので、こちらも楽しみです。
